World progress
How the shared world levels grow with every captain and every share, and which tankers, routes, flags and capacity they open for everyone.
On this page
The world of Oil Voyage grows together. All players share two progress tracks, Population and Volume. When a track reaches a new level, it opens new routes, tankers, a new flag or larger tankers for everyone. This page explains how the tracks count and what each level opens.
Two tracks
| Track | What it counts | What it opens |
|---|---|---|
| Population | Game accounts | Tankers, routes, a new flag and the Volume track |
| Volume | 🛢️ loaded into tankers by all players | Larger tankers |
Levels only go up. Once a level is reached, what it opened stays open.
When the app says "world level", for example on a locked flag or a locked tanker, it means the Population level.
Where you see it
Open Rewards. The block World progress is at the top.

Each track card shows:
- the track's name, its level and the level's name;
- the counter: the number of captains, or the 🛢️ loaded;
- the threshold of the next level, or MAX at the last level;
- a progress bar toward the next level;
- an arrow with the next level's name and what it will open.
Under the cards, a line shows the current tanker capacity. A track that is still locked is dimmed, with a lock and the Population level that opens it.
Population
The Population counter adds one for every new game account, at the moment the account is created: the first time someone opens the game, in the Mini App or in the bot. It never goes down.
Right now the world is at Population level 10, with 319,601 captains counted. The table is live:
The more captains join, the faster the world opens. Your invite link helps: see Referrals.
Volume
The Volume counter adds the amount of every share bought, paid or free. A cancelled share is taken off again. The counter runs from the start of the game, even while the track is locked, but its levels count only once the track is open.
The Volume track opens at Population level 5. Until then its card is dimmed. Once it opens, it moves straight to the highest level its counter has already reached.
Right now the world is at Volume level 2. The table is live:
What unlocks
New routes and a new flag
When a Population level opens new routes, each new route gets its first tanker in port within about a minute. You see it in Routes and on the map at the next refresh.
When a level opens a new flag, the flag becomes selectable in the flag picker. You can switch to it in Profile → Flag. See Flags and countries.
More tankers
Some Population levels add named tankers to existing routes. Before the level, you see them in Routes under Locked. After it, they join their route's rotation: each one takes its turn in port the next time its route needs a tanker. A route still has one tanker in port at a time. See Routes and positions.
Larger tankers
Volume levels raise the capacity of tankers, the most cargo one voyage can carry. Without a Volume level, the capacity is 1,000 🛢️. Right now a new voyage loads up to 5,000 🛢️.
A tanker's capacity is fixed at its first share. A tanker that is already loading keeps its capacity when a new level arrives. The new capacity applies to voyages that start after it.
Announcements
When the world reaches a new level, the bot announces it once to registered players, in their language. You get it if the bot may message you and the "News and events" notifications are on. See Notifications and the bot.
