Weekends

The weekend rule, prices frozen at Friday's fix, tankers parked until Monday, withdrawals closed, and what keeps running.

On this page

Oil exchanges do not trade on weekends, so Oil Voyage follows the same calendar. From Saturday 00:00 to Monday 00:00 UTC, prices stay at Friday's fix, tankers that arrive wait until Monday, and new withdrawals are closed. Everything else keeps running.

What changes on weekends

The weekend runs from Saturday 00:00 to Monday 00:00 UTC. During this time the map, Routes, the tanker sheet and the withdrawal screens show this note:

Exchanges are closed: the price is frozen at Friday's close. This is the exchanges' rule, not ours.

The time is UTC, not your local time. In some time zones the weekend starts on Friday evening or ends on Sunday evening.

Prices on weekends

There are no new daily fixes on Saturday and Sunday. The app shows Friday's fix with a change of 0.00% all weekend. For a voyage:

  • an arrival on Saturday or Sunday uses Friday's fix as the arrival price;
  • a departure on Saturday or Sunday uses Friday's fix as the departure price.

The app calls this price "Friday's close". It is Friday's daily fix. The small live line on the map keeps moving, but it never counts. See Prices and daily fixes.

Parked tankers

A tanker that reaches its destination on Saturday or Sunday (UTC) is Parked. It waits at the port without a berth and without a timer.

  • Its sheet and your share show Parked · unloads Monday and the note: Exchanges are closed for the weekend: the tanker waits at the port and unloads on Monday. The payout uses Friday's closing price; parking does not change the yield.
  • The countdown Unloads in runs to Monday 00:00 UTC.
  • You cannot buy shares on a parked tanker, and you cannot cancel shares on it.
  • If the bot may message you, it tells you that your tanker is parked for the weekend.

Note

The Unloads in countdown ends when parking ends, on Monday 00:00 UTC. Unloading starts then and still takes 6 hours, or longer if the port has a queue. The payout comes after that.

On Monday

At Monday 00:00 UTC the parked tankers of each port go to the berths in the order they arrived, together with any tankers already in the queue.

  1. If a berth is free, the tanker starts Unloading. Its 6 hours count from Monday 00:00 UTC.
  2. If all berths are busy, it joins the queue: In queue. Its longest wait, 12 hours, also counts from Monday 00:00 UTC.
  3. A tanker that arrives on Monday does not pass them. It queues behind them.

So the earliest payout for a weekend arrival is Monday 00:00 UTC plus 6 hours.

What it means for you

  • Parking does not change your payout. The price is Friday's fix, and the base yield counts only the days at sea. Waiting adds nothing and takes nothing away.
  • A tanker that arrived on Friday is not parked. It unloads and pays out over the weekend, using its own Friday fix.
  • If Friday's fix is missing, a parked tanker unloads on Monday and then shows Awaiting fix until the fix is entered. See The voyage cycle.
  • The Overnight card stays hidden. Prices do not move, so there is no change to show.
  • You can still join voyages. Tankers load and depart on weekends, and the tanker sheet always reminds you: On weekends exchanges do not trade: prices hold at Friday's close.

Withdrawals on weekends

New withdrawal requests, in wBarrel and in DOGE, in the Mini App and in the bot, are closed from Saturday 00:00 to Monday 00:00 UTC. The withdrawal screens show Withdrawals are closed on weekends and the day and time they open again, in your local time.

Requests made before the weekend stay in line and are paid as usual. You can still cancel a request that is waiting. Details: Withdrawals.
