wBarrel is the game's currency. What it is, where it comes from, what you can do with it, and what it is not.

wBarrel is the main currency of Oil Voyage. You pay for shares with it, and payouts come back in it. The app shows it as the barrel emoji: 100 🛢️ means 100 wBarrel. This page explains where wBarrel comes from and what you can do with it.
What it is
wBarrel is an in-game unit of account. It is counted in US dollars: 1 🛢️ = 1 USD when you deposit or withdraw. It is not legal tender and not a security. It is kept on your game balance, not on a blockchain.
Your balance is shown in Profile and on the map. The game keeps the balance to 6 decimal places. The app shows amounts cut, never rounded up: 9.996 🛢️ is shown as 9.99 🛢️.
Oil Voyage also has a second currency, wDOGE, which comes from tasks. It is separate from wBarrel and cannot be turned into wBarrel. See wDOGE and DOGE.

Task rewards are paid in wDOGE, not in wBarrel.
What you can do with it
- Buy shares in tanker voyages. A share is taken from your balance at once. See Buying a share.
- Stake it for a fixed rate, with a lock. See Staking.
- Withdraw it to your own crypto wallet, while withdrawals are switched on. The welcome bonus and the daily streak rewards are a bonus balance: they are for playing and cannot be withdrawn, but what you earn with them can. See Withdrawals.
You cannot send wBarrel to another player, and other players cannot send it to you.
Important
Whether you can withdraw depends on a setting of the game's operators. While withdrawals are switched off, wBarrel you deposit cannot be taken out of the game.
Your history
Profile → History → Ledger lists every move of your balance, newest first, with the date and time. Moves of wDOGE (task rewards, exchanges) are listed there too, in wDOGE. The most common wBarrel lines are:

What it is not
- It is not a deposit at a bank, and the game is not an exchange or a broker.
- It does not earn anything by itself while it sits on your balance.
- It is not a promise of income. A voyage can return less than you put in.
